Note: Sections marked Coming soon describe features that are not live yet; this policy applies to them once they launch, and we'll update the effective date if anything changes.
The short version
- The portfolio site uses no AI.
- No AI features are live in the apps today. Coming soon Some app features will use current Google Gemini models, and the text you enter for those features will be sent to Google to create the answer.
- Coming soon Demo AI will have a small limit. You will also be able to use your own Google AI key, which stays in your browser.
- AI can be wrong. It is not professional advice.
1. The portfolio
nonartificialsi.com has no chatbot, no AI-written answers, and no AI recommendations. No visitor information is sent to any AI service.

3. How it will work and what data leaves your device Coming soon
- Provider: Google's Gemini API, using current Google Gemini models, reached through Firebase AI Logic or our Cloud Functions.
- What is sent: the text you type into an AI feature, plus the app content needed to answer, such as the lesson or question on screen. Nothing else from your account is sent.
- Demo accounts get a small number of AI replies per session. AI works only after a bot check (Firebase App Check with reCAPTCHA Enterprise, run by Google).
- Your own key: you can paste your own Google AI Studio key to use AI on your own Google account. The key stays in your browser (session storage, or local storage if you choose "Remember on this device"), is sent only directly to Google, and is never sent to our servers. You can remove it at any time. Details are in the privacy policy.
- Google processes AI requests under the Gemini API Additional Terms of Service.
4. Labels
Coming soon AI-generated text and images in the apps will be labeled as AI-generated where they appear.
5. Age
AI features are for adults 18 and older, as Google's terms require, including in AdaptiveSchool.
6. MaQkrs AI Tutor
MaQkrs AI Tutor, the study app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, works differently: its AI answers are produced on your device, by Apple's built-in on-device model or by an optional Google Gemma model you choose to download. See the MaQkrs AI Tutor page and its privacy policy.
7. Limits of AI output
AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. Check important facts with a reliable source. AI output is not professional, medical, legal, financial, or educational advice.
